· Yahoo Sports

The Charlotte Hornets suffered their first 2026 NBA Summer League loss Saturday evening, falling to the New Orleans Pelicans after defeating the Orlando Magic in their opener. Turnovers were a main point of concern as the Hornets committed 22 as opposed to just seven from New Orleans.

Former first-round pick from UConn, Liam McNeeley, shouldered the scoring load again, scoring 17 points to go along with five rebounds, five assists and two blocks. Ryan Kalkbrenner showed his shot-blocking prowess as well, registering four blocks in addition to six points, three rebounds and two assists. Lastly, undrafted Illinois guard Kylan Boswell also impressed off the bench, registering eight points on 3-for-3 shooting to go along with seven assists, four rebounds, one steal and zero turnovers in 15 minutes.
