The Chicago Bears were one of the NFL's biggest breakout teams last season, as they won the NFC North and beat the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs in a season that finally affirmed that they've found their head coach and quarterback.

But, for as good as Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams are for this franchise, there is a lot more to be excited about. Heading into 2026, there might not be a more exciting young receiver duo than Colston Loveland and Luther Burden III.

While both have already flashed, Burden has routinely been tabbed as a breakout candidate this upcoming season, and for good reason. Amid that hype, The Athletic's Dan Wiederer shared a comment from Loveland on Burden that Bears fans will love to hear.

Colston Loveland calls Luther Burden III 'The Truth'

"He's the truth, man. And nothing but the truth," Loveland said. This comment from the Bears' second-year TE is exactly the kind of comment that Bears fans should get hyped about.

Johnson said earlier in the offseason that, "I'm buying Luther Burden stock right now." Now, with this comment from Loveland, it's clear those within the franchise believe Burden is in store for a huge season.

Not only are the fans and media getting excited about a potential breakout season for Burden, but those within the team also believe Burden is on the cusp of a breakout.

In his rookie season, which didn't really get going until much later in the year, Burden caught 47 passes for 652 yards and two touchdowns.

Now, with Burden heading into year two, building up more trust with Williams and Johnson, along with the departure of DJ Moore in a trade with the Buffalo Bills, the pathway is clear for a huge 2026 for Burden.

And not that Bears fans needed to get more hyped for Burden in year two, but this comment from Loveland, calling his fellow receiver from the 2025 draft class "the truth," is a bold one to make that only reaffirms Burden as a breakout candidate this year.
