2 dead, 3 injured in two car rear end collision on Highway 401 in Mississauga

Two people have died following a two-car crash on the eastbound express lane of Highway 401 near Dixie Rd. in Mississauga just before 9 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.
“Two passenger vehicles were involved in a rear end collision as traffic was slowing,” said OPP’s Highway Safety Division in a post on X.

“Two adults were pronounced deceased at the scene. Three others were transported to hospital with injuries.”
The OPP said eastbound express lanes were closed at Mississauga Rd., and traffic stuck in the express lanes would eventually be allowed to filter through the scene.
