This will be Michael Malone's first full recruiting cycle as head coach of the Tar Heels and he's hoping to make a big splash for the 2027 class. While North Carolina has yet to land a commitment, they are in pursuit of several top recruits.

With Malone and the Tar Heels in pursuit of recruits, the latest report on a pair of targets is good news for the program. And it involves one of the top overall players in the class.

Eric Bossi of 247Sports revealed that Malone and the Tar Heels are putting a lot of effort into recruiting No. 2 overall prospect CJ Rosser and No. 13 overall prospect Jordan Page.

"North Carolina and Michael Malone are putting a lot of effort into recruiting those two," Bossi said, via The Assist with Kyle Tucker. "From what I've heard, speaking with sources on the road and other college coaches, it sounds like they're making pretty serious inroads with those two. You're talking about two five-star talents. One in the arguments for No. 1, that they are homegrown and local. If Michael Malone can get that across the finish line, it really can set the tone for what he's going to be able to do at the high school level as a recruiter."

Bossi says he's keeping a lot of attetion on that situation, which should be great news for the Tar Heels. If Malone can pull off even one of those five-star recruits, it would be a HUGE start for the Tar Heels' 2027 class.
