Remember over the past few years when there were many rumors that the Philadelphia Phillies were interested in trading for Mason Miller of the then-Oakland Athletics?

Well, Miller was eventually dealt to the San Diego Padres in a trade that made too much sense for the Athletics to make at the time.
Getting Leo De Vries in return, there really wasn't much of a reason for the Phillies or any other team in Major League Baseball to give up as much as San Diego was willing to.
Fast forward to the middle of July in 2026, and with the Padres potentially moving on from guys, it would make a lot of sense if Miller gets dealt again. According to one writer from Heavy.com, he could be a trade candidate, and I wouldn't be shocked if Philadelphia throws its hat in the ring once again.
“Mason Miller, San Diego Padres (Contract Details: Final year, $4 million). AJ Preller hasn’t thrown cold water on trade rumors, leaving the door open for the Padres to be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline. Miller throws hard and is one of the league leaders in saves this year. Miller will be a difference-maker with whichever organization he is with once the dust settles,” Caleb Kerney wrote.
The question for the Padres and Phillies, or any team interested in him, is what San Diego could be looking for at this point.
Considering what the Padres gave up, I don't think they're going to move Miller unless they get a lot in return.
