OAKLAND, Ill. (WCIA) — The Tri-County Titans are taking advantage of every allowed minute of summer practice in hopes of revitalizing the program.

Nate Albaugh was named head coach back in March, marking his fourth head-coaching stint in Illinois.

With the Titans, he hopes to bring new energy to a program that has just two wins in the last three seasons.

“I think that people might underestimate how difficult it is to field a football team when you’re at these real tiny schools,” said Albaugh. “The people here have done a really great job and have really fought tooth and nail to keep this program alive over the last decade, two decades. And and so I really just want to be able to keep that going.”

Tri-County’s first test comes on August 21 against Sangamon Valley/Tri-City.
