RB Leipzig started their pre-season with a narrow win over Regionalliga Northeast side VSG Altglienicke in Martin Demichelis’ touchline debut. The two-time DFB-Pokal winners will be back in the Champions League after completely missing out in Europe last term.
Brajan Gruda, who joined them permanently after his loan stint, opened the score before the fourth-tier team equalized before the break. Demichelis changed his entire lineup for the second-half, but Altglienicke kept them scoreless after an early strike from Johan Bakayoko.
