Wings’ Azzi Fudd headlines 3-point contest field at WNBA All-Star Weekend

Azzi Fudd is heading to All-Star Weekend after all. The No. 1 pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft will headline Friday’s All-Star 3-point contest in Chicago, attempting to be the first rookie to capture the crown.

The Dallas Wings guard will be joined by All-Stars Marina Mabrey and Rhyne Howard, plus Bridget Carleton, Natisha Hiedeman and Janelle Salaün. Fudd, Carleton, Hiedeman and Salaün are first-time participants, guaranteeing there will be a first-time champion in 2026.

Fudd has been preparing for the event and was seen watching 3-point contest film at a recent Wings practice. She is averaging 13.3 points and 1.7 steals this season for Dallas, which sits in fourth place in the WNBA standings after finishing with the league’s worst record in 2025.

Notably absent from this year’s field are defending champion Sabrina Ionescu, who set a contest record with 37 points (missing two of 27 shots) in the final round of her 2023 win, and Caitlin Clark. Both declined invitations to participate, as did Minnesota’s Kayla McBride. It isn’t uncommon for players who aren’t All-Stars to turn down the weekend’s other events.

The 3-point shootout includes five racks of five balls spread around the 3-point line, with one money ball worth two points per rack, and one full rack of money balls. There are also two logo shots worth three points each. This year’s contest will be held at Wintrust Arena, home of the Chicago Sky.

The All-Star festivities on Friday night will also include a Shooting Stars contest. Details, including participants, will be announced later this week.
