· Yahoo Sports
Andrew Berry had a clear vision for the Cleveland Browns roster this offseason. After the franchise won just eight games in two seasons, Berry embraced a youth movement and turned the roster over by injecting young talent into it.

That started with Cleveland drafting four players in the first 60 picks of the NFL Draft, all four of whom are expected to contribute immediately. It was punctuated by the blockbuster trade that saw star edge rusher Myles Garrett shipped to the Los Angeles Rams for a haul of picks and young pass rusher Jared Verse.
Just like that, the Browns went from having one of the oldest teams in football to having one of the youngest, leaving plenty of room for excitement about the direction of the franchise in the coming years.
Berry's efforts did not go unnoticed, so much so that in a recent ranking by ESPN of the top teams based on talent under the age of 25, the Browns found themselves No. 4 overall, jumping over 25 spots from a season ago.
The explanation highlighted the offense first.
Let's start on offense, where the talent is really young. Fannin far outplayed what we usually see from a rookie tight end, catching 72 passes for 731 yards, and he just turned 22. Running back Quinshon Judkins is also 22, and his backup, Dylan Sampson , is 21. The Browns drafted two wide receivers this year: 21-year-old KC Concepcion and 22-year-old Denzel Boston . And this year's No. 9 pick, left tackle Fano, doesn't turn 22 until November.
Cleveland Browns Offseason Report; Which Brown is set for breakout? | Roster rankings fair or foul? The Cleveland Browns are just two weeks away from reporting to camp and then the season will be on for the Browns. Until then, it is another conversation abo...Most of Berry's attention went to the offensive side of the football this offseason and rightfully so. The Browns were 30th in scoring in 2025 and struggled to sustain drives behind an old offensive line and with limited talent at the skill positions.
Meanwhile, the Browns defense was one of the best in football a season ago, but has plenty of promising young talent of its own. The piece highlighted that as well.
On defense, we start with Defensive Rookie of the Year Schwesinger, who turned 23 in February. Graham, last year's first-round pick, is 23. Second-round safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren is 22 years old, and veteran safety Ronnie Hickman is still just 24 after three seasons in the NFL.
In the short term, boasting such a young team may not lead to many wins this season for Cleveland. But if its young core takes hold in the coming years, a new window of contention is on the horizon.
