Female fatally shot in north Etobicoke

A shooting early Friday has left a female dead in north Etobicoke.
Toronto Police say their officers were called to the Humberwood Blvd. and Rexdale Blvd. area, west of Woodbine Mall, around 7:20 a.m. for reports of a female located with a gunshot wound. She died at the scene. Her age was not immediately released.
Cops said in a post on X that the “suspect fled the scene.” There was no description of the killer immediately provided.
Toronto Police’s Homicide Unit is investigating.
Humberwood Blvd. is closed between Morning Star Dr. and Rexdale Blvd. to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
