Summary: Like most newcomers who play in the middle of the defense, this interior linebacker, Mr. Carter, joined the Cards a few years back and has started to cut teeth and head hunt on special teams. Primarily used in kick coverage and punt coverage, Carter helped lead the charge to put a body on a ball, and stayed in his lane like a Pete Weber bowling ball.

Carter has gotten a taste for the game day action and is looking to elevate his opportunities to the next level, competing this year for reps on the inside position. While most fans will expect to see Stanquan and Capers getting the bulk of the reps in 2026, rightfully so, guys like Carter, Cam White (38), and Jacob Smith (36) are big reasons why the interior linebacker spot is feeling like a solid group this coming year. With a few questions marks on the defensive line interior, these guys must play at an elite level to stop the inside game before it gets going.
