After much speculation, it has now been confirmed that LeBron James is joining the Philadelphia 76ers after leaving the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this year.

It is the first time in his career that James will play for the 76ers, having previously enjoyed spells with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers.

LeBron began his career with Cleveland before returning for a second spell in 2014.

Now, WWE superstar The Miz, who is a Cavaliers fan, has commented on James’ latest move and warned that unless he takes his new team to the NBA finals, the fanbase is going to chew him up and spit him out.

The Miz warns Philadelphia 76ers fans could turn on LeBron James

The Miz shared his thoughts via X/Twitter, saying: “Why go to Philadelphia 76ers? Because let me explain what is going to happen. Because I know this fanbase, I’ve been in front of this fanbase, I’ve seen what happens in this fanbase.

“Have we watched the Philadelphia Eagles? Even when they’re winning, the fans are still complaining. So you don’t think these fans are going to chew LeBron up, and spit him right out if he doesn’t get them all the way, if the process doesn’t go all the way to the NBA Finals.

“I think this is a bad move for LeBron James. I mean, I wish the best, I mean, this team is pretty stacked, but let’s face it, injuries happen, and if this team doesn’t go all the way, bad news. Bad news, bad press.”

The 76ers have played in the NBA Finals nine times and won three championships.

However, they have not actually made it to the Finals since 2001, and their last championship win came all the way back in 1983.
