Bergen Catholic football star transfers to IMG Academy

Second-team All-New Jersey defensive end Jackson Vaughn announced July 28 on Instagram that is transferring from Bergen Catholic to IMG Academy in Florida.

Vaughn will have one year of high school eligibility remaining after reclassifying to the class of 2027. He announced his commitment to Notre Dame when he reclassified.
Vaughn, listed at 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, played for two years at Bergen Catholic. As a sophomore, he had eight sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss. He made a big splash as a freshman in the 2024 Non-Public A state championship game with four sacks in Bergen Catholic’s 25-7 win over Don Bosco.
Vaughn becomes the fourth high-profile player to transfer from Bergen Catholic this summer. Defensive lineman Jayden Beckley, and defensive backs Adrian and Amiir Woodward transferred to nearby St. Peter’s Prep.
Bergen Catholic is scheduled to open the season at Central Catholic (Pittsburgh, Pa.) on Aug. 28.
