Indiana might not be better than last year, but it will still be tough

The Big Ten has seen annual changes in terms of which team wins the conference title. Curt Cignetti and the Indiana Hoosiers were last year's champion, but it is safe to assume there will be some regression, given the players they lost. However, with Curt Cignetti, you truly cannot discount the Hoosiers, who will be tough for USC to beat on the road in 2026.

In a recent article, Bjorn Bergstrom predicts the Hoosiers to come in third in the Big Ten with a record of 11-1. Here is what he had to say about the Hoosiers:
"The Hoosiers lost a lot of talent across the roster, but they didn't lose the most important piece: coach Curt Cignetti. He reloaded via the transfer portal, landing TCU quarterback Josh Hoover and Michigan State wide receiver Nick Marsh, who will combine with Charlie Becker to form one of the top receiving duos in the nation. With Cignetti at the helm, expect Indiana to push for a Big Ten title game berth."
Curt Cignetti will always give the Hoosiers a chance with how well he coaches his teams. That can be directly seen with his quarterback development. The Hoosiers will have a new starter at quarterback, but Josh Hoover will be in a great position to have his most collegiate success. The defense is returning starters from an elite defense. The Hoosiers might take a step back with some talent offensively, but this will still be a team with a chance at a Big Ten title and much more.
