‘Ramayana: Part 1’ makers release 4-minute trailer with key characters and highlights

The full-length trailer of Nitesh Tiwari’s adaptation of the Ramayana epic is out. Clocking a little over four minutes, the Ramayana trailer reveals the idyllic world of Ram in Ayodhya that is disrupted by the Lankan king Raavan.

The cast includes Ranbir Kapoor (Ram), Sai Pallavi (Sita), Ravie Dubey (Lakshman), Yash (Raavan), Sunny Deol (Hanuman), Arun Govil (Dashrath), Lara Dutta (Kaikeyi), Sheeba Chadha (Manthara), Indira Krishnan (Kausalya), Rakul Preet Singh (Surpanakha), Kajal Aggarwal (Mandodari) and Kunal Kapoor (Indra).
Among the other actors are Shobhana (Kaikasi), Vivek Oberoi (Vidyutjiva), Addinath Kothare (Bharat), Faisal Malik (Kumbhakarna), Suhail Nayyar (Sugriva), Saurabh Sachdeva (Mareech), Harish Uthaman (Vibhishina), Nitish Sharma (Shatrughna) and Mukesh Tiwari (Agastya).
The trailer shows the build-up to the clash between Ram and Raavan. Ravana rules by force and later kidnaps Sita to avenge the attack on his sister Surpanakaha by Ram and Lakshman. Aided by Hanuman’s army, Ram and Lakshman set out to Lanka to rescue Sita.
Before fighting Raavan, the duty-bound Ram must face family intrigue in the form of Kaikeyi. Ram sacrifices his claim to the throne and sets out into the forest with Sita and Lakshman.
