July 30 (UPI) -- A champion speedcuber reclaimed a Guinness World Records title by solving a Rubik's cube in 11.56 seconds while wearing a blindfold.

Tommy Cherry, 21, retook the title for the fastest time to solve a 3x3x3 rotating puzzle cube while blindfolded when he completed the task in 11.56 seconds at the Mid-Atlantic Quiet Championship 2026 event in Branchburg, N.J., on June 28.
He first set the record at 15.27 seconds in 2021, and has broken the record almost every year since. The most recent record of 11.67 seconds was set by Australian Charlie Eggins at the Cubing at The Cube 2026 event in Sydney, Australia, on Jan. 10.
Cherry and Eggins are currently co-holders of the title for the fastest average time to solve a 3x3x3 rotating puzzle cube while blindfolded, with both competitors achieving a time of 14.05 seconds.
"This most recent record of mine is my first one since 2024, so I am ecstatic to finally improve again and hope to keep it going for as long as I can," Cherry said.
