World Cup tourist confirms plans to return to the USA and follow another sport

The 2026 World Cup brought thousands upon thousands of fans from many countries to North America.
While the tournament ended on July 19 with Spain beating Argentina in the final, the impact on the USA appears to have been longer-lasting.

Many tourists who visited America solely for the World Cup stayed long after their countries were knocked out of the competition, including viral fan Oliver Henry, who met President Donald Trump during his stint in the USA.
Now, another soccer fan who became very popular during his time in America for the World Cup, ‘FreddyLA7’, has confirmed he’s set to travel back to the US later this year.

In a X/Twitter post, Freddy announced he will be back ‘this fall’, but rather than following soccer, he will be going on ‘a road trip with college football as the main focus’.
Freddy tweeted: “We’re planning another USA trip this fall!
“It’s going to be a road trip with college football as the main focus, but we’re also planning to check out plenty of other sports and unique American events.
“The idea for this trip actually came from our visits to a few colleges on the last trip. Everyone told us how crazy it gets on gamedays, so now we want to experience it ourselves.
“Now we need your expertise: Which colleges should we visit? What games are interesting? And what other events or activities (also non-sporting-related) are worth checking out in September/October?
“So far we have these on our list:
“Oktoberfest in Helen, GA
“Texas State Fair
“Breeders’ Cup in Kentucky”
His post has already garnered a lot of attention, with over 68,000 likes at the time of writing.
Meanwhile, the official X account of the College Football Playoff has even invited the World Cup tourist to watch the CFP National Championship in Las Vegas.
They quoted his tweet and wrote: “It only makes sense that the trip should end on the biggest stage in Las Vegas for the CFP National Championship… right? What do ya say @FreddyLA7?”
The National Championship is scheduled to take place on January 25, 2027.
