Rookie leaves practice after suffering injury at Chiefs training camp

· Yahoo Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs may be without rookie wide receiver Cyrus Allen in the coming days after the former Cincinnati Bearcat sustained a lower-body injury in a collision with a teammate at a training camp practice session on August 1.

Allen was selected by Kansas City in the fifth round in the 2026 NFL Draft and is fighting for a spot on the Chiefs' 53-man roster as the team looks to rebuild from its disastrous regular-season campaign last year.

Though details of Allen's exact condition are scarce, veteran beat reporter Jesse Newell of The Athletic posted a video of Allen being helped off the field during workouts after his injury:

Kansas City's coaches can't afford to have their rookies miss too many valuable repetitions at practice as the Chiefs look ahead to a highly anticipated preseason matchup against the formidable Los Angeles Rams at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, August 15.
