The 2026 NBA Rookie of the Year race is sure to be a close one. The top-four draft picks--AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer, Caleb Wilson--all turned in great performances at the Las Vegas summer league. They all figure to have a huge impact on the success of their respective franchises to varying degrees this upcoming season. But Chicago Bulls rookie Caleb Wilson--taken fourth overall--is currently third in odds to win ROY via DraftKings Sportsbook.
DraftKings has Wilson at +350 (a $100 wager would net a profit of $350), sandwiched right between Peterson (+330) and Dybantsa (+425).

The full top-four in odds for Rookie of the Year via DraftKings is as follows:

Darius Acuff comes in at fifth in ROY odds, but as a +1200 longshot, showing the perceived gap in talent between the top-four prospects and the rest of of the rookie field.
Perhaps the most intriguing part of the ROY odds is how the No. 1 pick, Dybantsa, comes in at fourth in the odds. The reasoning behind this pricing ties into Wilson coming in third in the odds: opportunity.
Dybantsa, despite being the No. 1 pick, is joining a team that figures to have a big injection of star power and high-usage talent.
The Washington Wizards will be dealing with their first full season of Trae Young and Anthony Davis in the fold. Add that up with second-year scorers Tre Johnson and Will Riley finding their way, and it's easy to see how Dybantsa might struggle to put up gaudy numbers. Things are very, very different down in Chicago for Wilson.
Whereas Dybantsa will be navigating a roster with a pair of future Hall of Famers on it, Wilson will be joining a Bulls team that understands he is essentially, the primary focus. Chicago's new-look front office spearheaded by executive vice president of basketball operations Bryson Graham selected Wilson at No. 4 and Dailyn Swain at No. 15 overall.
Regardless of what happens with the rest of the roster, one should expect Wilson and Swain to get a ton of playing time right out of the gate. In Swain's case, a disastrous start to the year could land him in the G League. But Wilson will be allowed to work through any and all mistakes as Graham's biggest investment in his brief Bulls tenure.
Last season, Coby White led the Bulls with 18.6 PPG, while Nikola Vucevic led Chicago in FGAs per game (13.8). It is quite easy to see Wilson surpassing both of those figures with he, Matas Buzelis and Josh Giddey positioned to be the top-three shot-takers for the Bulls this upcoming season.

Wilson dominated summer league to the tune of 23.5 PPG on 50% shooting (42% from three), 7.3 RPG, 1.3 SPG and 2.5 BPG. If Wilson's summer league was a true display of what's to come, then he will be in the thick of the ROY race all season long.
