The Los Angeles Dodgers rolled without Shohei Ohtani on the mound due to a knee injury. Ohtani still swung the bat while sharing the field with Pete-Crow Armstrong in the Chicago Cubs series. But now Ohtani revealed the updated condition of his MLB Injury.

He now says his knee is becoming better “day-by-day” when addressing reporters Wednesday.

Ohtani addressed his health after producing a stellar night at the bat: three hits including ripping two home runs. And he led off the game by sending a 91 miles per hour four-seam fastball 376 feet into the air.

Chicago roared after the lead off home run, though. Crow-Armstrong led off with his own home run blast, on the opening pitch for the Cubs star. PCA ripped through a 90 mph four-seam fastball that traveled 420 feet into center field, tying the game at 1-1.

Dansby Swanson later doubled to left field, drawing one runner in to break the 1-1 tie. Crow-Armstrong then pounded his double, bringing Swanson home to make it 3-1. PCA fully took over in the bottom of the fourth, pounding his second home run towards right field at 405 feet and scoring one runner to make it 6-1.

Max Muncy sparked the late LA surge, smashing a three-run home run blast that scored ex-Cubs star Kyle Tucker and Mookie Betts home.

But then Ohtani attacked the left outfield on his second homer. He blasted a 367-footer off smacking an 86 mph sweeper, cutting the Cubs lead to 7-6.

Los Angeles couldn’t complete the comeback bid, though. And not the defending back-to-back champs have lost its sixth in a row.
