‘I will get there’ – Kyle Shanahan reveals when he’ll return to San Francisco 49ers sideline after car crash

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan is working his way back to full health after he was injured in a car crash.
Shanahan broke his left hand, three ribs, and had a concussion following the accident that happened four weeks ago.

The 46-year-old has delegated several responsibilities to assistant head coach Chris Foerster during training camp.
Shanahan spoke to the media for the first time since the crash on Saturday and revealed when he will return to the sidelines.

Shanahan has revealed that he is almost back to “100%” fitness and will soon assume all head coaching responsibilities from Foerster.
He will even be on the sideline for the 49ers’ first preseason game against the Tennessee Titans on Thursday.
“As far as the important stuff, I feel it’s about 100%,” Shanahan explained to ESPN how he has been managing the situation lately.
“The biggest thing I have learned is just when you deal with fatigue and headaches is if I do everything, I pay for it in some ways later.
“That’s the routine that I have found out. I really tried to eliminate stuff that I would say is just the fake work stuff.”
Shanahan has often worked from home throughout his recovery, but he plans to return to the practice facility full-time soon.
He added: “I try not to come in here every single day because I feel like, if I did, I wouldn’t be able to pull off my normal routine…
“Watching hours and hours of tape and getting to walk through the night being able to watch stuff after that. Eventually, I will get there.”
