Making his Dodger Stadium debut on Monday, Skubal only lasted five innings at the mound as he added only his second win to his name since the trade.
Skubal has since been spotted speaking to his agent, Scott Boras, inside Dodger Stadium, which has certainly caught the attention of fans across the league.
‘If there’s a reason the Dodgers don’t re-sign Skubal, it’ll be Boras,’ replied one fan on X.
Another fan also believes the Dodgers will not be looking to re-sign Skubal: ‘Unpopular opinion. I don’t think they’ll re-sign him. The years money and age doesn’t seem what the Dodgers would do.’
Skubal is currently playing on a record-setting one-year, $32m contract that was won through arbitration.
One fan very simply said: ‘He’s gone’.
Another fan was thinking along the same lines: ‘It was nice knowing you Tarik. He’s gone.’
Chicago Cubs fans mocked Skubal following their recent series against the Dodgers, which saw the Cubs sweep the visitors.
‘He doesn’t wanna be a dodger but he definitely doesn’t wanna be a Tiger either,’ replied one fan.
Some interesting months lie ahead for Skubal as he is set to become an unrestricted free agent during the offseason.
