Transfer news: Stellenbosch star to Morrocan champions

Stellenbosch FC winger Devin Titus is set for a move to Moroccan champions Maghreb de Fes after the two clubs agreed a transfer deal.

SABC Sport, through journalist Mazola Molefe, reports that Stellenbosch FC and Maghreb de Fes have agreed a club-to-club deal for the transfer of the 26-year-old.
The move could see Titus join the Botola Pro champions, who have also secured the signing of South African striker Tshegofatso Mabasa on a free transfer.
DEVIN TITUS’ STELLENBOSCH RISE
Long before becoming one of the Betway Premiership’s established stars, Titus developed his football in Cape Town.
The Bonteheuwel-born winger spent an influential period in the youth ranks of Hellenic FC before attracting attention from scouts. That eventually led to his move to Stellenbosch FC in 2020.
Titus initially progressed through the club’s youth and reserve structures. He captained the reserve side to the 2021/22 DStv Diski Challenge title and also helped them win the Premier League Next Gen Cup in the United Kingdom.
He made his senior debut under Steve Barker in January 2021 against Black Leopards.
Titus quickly established himself in the first team. In the 2022/23 campaign, he became the first Stellenbosch FC player to feature in all 30 league matches in a single season.
His breakthrough campaign continued with the 2023 Carling Knockout Cup triumph. Titus was named Player of the Tournament as Stellenbosch lifted their first major trophy.
NEXT CHAPTER
Titus has since made more than 150 appearances for Stellenbosch FC, becoming one of the club’s most-capped players.
He has also contributed more than 45 goals and assists across competitions while developing into an important figure within the club’s leadership group.
His performances earned him South Africa U-23 recognition before he progressed to the senior national team. Titus made his Bafana Bafana debut at the 2024 COSAFA Cup.
Now, the winger appears set for a new challenge in Morocco.
A move to Maghreb de Fes would represent another major step in the career of a player who has previously spoken about his ambition to play outside South Africa.
For Stellenbosch FC, it could mark the end of an important chapter for one of the players who helped establish the club as a force in South African football.
