How Colts are approaching Anthony Richardson's trade request in camp

With Anthony Richardson's trade request from early in the offseason still on the table a few weeks into training camp, how are the Indianapolis Colts approaching the situation currently?
If you ask assistant GM Ed Dodds, the answer is simple.

“I think you take care of your own team first," Dodds said on Sunday, via The Athletic's James Boyd.
Dodds then added, “We want to have three (QBs) that can play. So, if he’s one of them, he’s gonna be here.”

Richardson is competing with Riley Leonard for the backup quarterback role, and by all accounts, the competition is close. Richardson also put together the better outing in the team's preseason opener.
While the team has remained bullish about Leonard, he does still have only one start under his belt as he enters his second season. Daniel Jones, meanwhile, has never played a full season during his NFL career.
So to Dodds' point, the best thing for the Colts may be to give themselves as many options as possible at backup quarterback, especially if Richardson's trade market doesn't develop.
There is no reason to trade him just for the sake of doing so.
