The need for help up front is evident with all the injuries that the Jaguars have had to navigate along the offensive line. Acquiring Faalele adds experience to the mix.

"Just continuing to bring depth and guys that have played meaningful reps in this league," Coen said. "That's something that you can't have enough of. We came into the camp with 16 (offensive linemen) and got down to about nine the other day. And so when you have some of those things occur and you want to continue to find guys that have done it, guys that have played in this league at a high level."

Currently, the Jaguars are without Patrick Mekari, Cole Van Lanen, Chuma Edoga, and Wyatt Milum.

The 2026 season will be Faalele's fifth in the NFL after spending his first four seasons in Baltimore. Over the last two years, he has made 34 starts at right guard.

"He's got some big size," Coen added, "and I'm looking forward to get to know him. But the experience is really what matters."

With Mekari sidelined, Faalele could step in and be the starting right guard. But at a minimum, this addition gives the Jaguars added flexibility, allowing Ezra Cleveland to stay at left guard and Walker Little at right tackle. Faalele also gives the competition up front a boost as well.

It's been reported that the Jaguars traded a 2027 sixth-round pick to New York.
