During Wednesday's team period, the 6-foot-3, 260-pound EDGE beat fellow rookie Blake Miller off the right side en route to a sack of quarterback Jared Goff. Two-time Lions Pro Bowler Aidan Hutchinson also beat Penei Sewell on the left side on that same snap, meeting Moore at Goff for the sack.

"It was just a third-down play. At that point, you know you've just got to get off the ball. Also, you've got Hutch on the opposite side, so you've got to get there before he gets there. Sometimes that be my mindset when I'm out there with Hutch or anybody else. Just get back there before they can because we've got a deep D-line room that can get to the ball, so that's my mindset on every third down, really on every passing down. Just get to the ball as best as I can because I know there's other guys getting there before me," Moore said.

Moore was asked if Wednesday was a sneak peek of what he and Hutch will deliver on game days this season for the Lions.

"Hey, I ain't gonna say too much, but it can be. But, no matter what, whoever's out there is going to make it all look the same," Moore said.

Moore had another sack during a different team period where he and defensive lineman Alim McNeill teamed up on a successful stunt.

The Lions have been looking for consistent pass-rush help opposite Hutchinson and Wednesday was a positive step in that direction.

"My comfort level. Just coming out here, being able to be comfortable within the play calls. Going against the competition that I'm going against, you know, just being able to be relaxed and just play 100 percent and not thinking too much," Moore said when asked how he's a different player now as compared to the start of training camp.

Moore had been battling a groin injury that cost him time to start Lions training camp. The Michigan product returned from injury last Saturday.

"I think the only thing I really missed is being out here on the field. That's it. Mentally I was still engaged, watching film, asking questions to the older guys and also to the coaches just so when I got back out here I could just go 100 percent."

Moore should see his first NFL preseason snaps come Saturday when the Lions host the Washington Commanders at Ford Field. Kickoff is set for noon ET.

"It can help me a lot. Just getting back into the rhythm. I've been out for two weeks, so getting back into the rhythm, being able to go against different competition and seeing different looks and different things like that. And just showing everybody what I'm capable of doing... Man, I'm so excited. I can't wait for it. Literally, I can't wait for it," Moore said.
