Bhopal DPI Security Revamp: Entry Restricted To Valid Pass Holders After Protest

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Entry into the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) headquarters will now be permitted only to those carrying a valid pass. Security arrangements will also be strengthened to protect officials and employees. The announcement was made by school education secretary Sanjay Goyal on Friday.

DPI employees staged a two-hour pen-down protest at the Commissioner of Public Instruction (CPI) office, during which routine work remained suspended.

They resumed work after the two-hour protest. The strike was called off after a delegation of employees met Goyal and discussed their demands.

Goyal also visited the DPI and appreciated the unity shown by employees and officers following Thursday’s incident.

Meanwhile, employees at the State Education Centre also staged a protest over the incident and raised questions about security arrangements.

On Thursday, ABVP workers had allegedly entered the DPI headquarters to support the candidates protesting they entered the CPI’s office and created a ruckus.

They were accused of misbehaving with officials and using inappropriate language. Police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

Teachers’ association extends support

State Teachers’ Association president Jagdish Yadav said employees extended their support to the Commissioner by observing a work stoppage at BEO, DEO and BRC offices and in schools.

However, he said classroom teaching was not affected and only office-related work was paused.
