Reese's pledge comes on the same day as the Dons' opening contest of the 2026 season against Amarillo High at Dick Bivins Stadium.

The PD standout enters his senior season after accumulating 3,053 passing yards and 31 touchdowns to go along with 449 yards rushing and 12 scores on the ground, as well as two interceptions on defense in 2025.

Reese is rated the No. 16 athlete and No. 41 player in Texas among class of 2027 recruits by 247Sports.

As a junior, Reese helped guide Palo Duro to 10 consecutive wins and the Dons' first outright district title in more than 20 years as PD at least 35 points in 11 games.

Now, after earning offers from schools around the country, the standout signal caller will head to Conference USA.

Playing its first season at the FBS level, Delaware went 7-6 in 2025, defeating Louisiana in the 68 Ventures Bowl.

Before Reese joins head coach Ryan Carty's team, though, the reigning District 2-5A Division II MVP and 2026 Amarillo Globe-News Preseason Player of the Year has the chance to lead Palo Duro to another district championship and a deep playoff run.

Palo Duro wide receiver Kyron Brown announced his commitment to Texas earlier this year.
