The LA Dodgers lost Game 2 of the three-game series against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park on Saturday night. Detroit won 2-1 on a walk-off hit in the ninth. The victory was backed by spirited pitching from Keider Montero and Andrew Sears, along with contributions from Gleyber Torres and Kevin McGonigle.
During a post-game media interview shared by Spectrum SportsNet, Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez shared his thoughts on the 2-1 loss.

“They’ve been pitching really good against us,” he said. “Everybody’s gonna have a little extra when they face this team.”

Hernandez finished the game 0-for-4, and the only run scored by the visitors came off the bat of Freddie Freeman.

LA has ranked among the bottom 10 in offense, especially in scoring, for nearly two months. The slump has been a major problem for the reigning World Series champions, who are 22-24 in their last 46 games.
After the loss to the Tigers, manager Dave Roberts reflected on the team’s offensive struggles.
“I don’t know what’s missing. I know the work is there. I know the will is there. I know the talent is there. But yeah, we just haven’t put it together in quite some time consistently … I gotta think about what I can do to spur this offense,” Roberts told reporters.
The Dodgers are 81-55, comfortably atop the NL West standings. They complete their road trip in Detroit on Sunday and then head home to begin a nine-game homestand, featuring three-game series against the Cardinals, the Nationals, and the Reds.
