BATTLE CREEK — Meet the most recent nominees for Battle Creek Enquirer Athletes of the Week, presented by Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.
Each week during the high school sports season, we will ask our readers to vote for the top performance of the week in all high school sports, taking a look at events from Monday-Saturday. In 2026, the Enquirer will have an Athlete of the Week for boys sports and an Athlete of the Week for girls sports.

Make sure to vote early and often for your pick, as the winner will be featured in an Athlete of the Week spotlight story in the Sunday edition of the Enquirer. Fans can vote for their favorite athlete until Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Nominees for Bronson Battle Creek Athlete of the Week for girls sports
Brynn Johnson
Marshall Volleyball
Marshall won the Cereal City Invitational for the first time in school history with sophomore Brynn Johnson leading the charge. Brynn Johnson led the Marshall offense with an outstanding all-around performance, finishing with 76 kills, 65 digs and eight aces.
Ella Laupp
Harper Creek Girls Swimming
Junior Ella Laupp helped Harper Creek win the SCC Relays at Otsego. Laupp was part of three first-place relay teams, winning the 400 medley relay, 800 freestyle relay and the 3 x 100 butterfly relay. Laupp is also coming off a summer where she won the women's division at the annual Goguac Lake Swim.
Irelynn Sedore
Pennfield Volleyball
Senior Irelynn Sedore hit a major milestone for Pennfield, coming up with her 1,000th career dig during play at the Cereal City Invitational. Sedore notched her 1,000th dig in a match against Homer in pool play. She went on to have 45 digs and 35 kills for the weekend with a 23.4% hitting percentage.
Haley Willi
Harper Creek Girls Golf
Harper Creek's Haley Willi broke the school record for 18 holes with a 74 and also topped the record for nine holes with a 35 at the Shamrock Invitational, hosted by Otsego. Led by Willi, Harper Creek won the Shamrock Invitational with a team score of 333.
