The Valley of Words Book Awards 2026 has announced its winners across eight categories. The winners will be felicitated at the Valley of Words Literature and Arts Festival in Dehradun on November 28 and 29 and will receive a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a trophy.
For each category, the winner was picked from shortlists of five books.
Here are the winners in each category:
English nonfiction: The Hindi Heartland: A Study, Ghazala Wahab
English fiction: Our Friends in Good Houses, Rahul Pandita
English translation: Sita’s Veil, Anamika, translated from the Hindi by Nishtha Gautam
Young adult writing: Giants, Huthuka Sumi
Children’s books: The Night Sky, Samina Mishra
Hindi nonfiction: Chandan Kiwad, Malini Awasthi
Hindi fiction: Trimaya, Manisha Kulshrestha
Hindi translation: Orbital, Samantha Harvey, translated from English by Rohini
