COLUMBIA — It's game day for South Carolina football.
The Gamecocks are kicking off 2026 by hosting Kent State at 12:45 p.m. ET (SEC Network) in Williams-Brice Stadium. It's the second meeting between the two programs, the last in 1995 which was a 77-14 win for South Carolina.

It's Year 6 for coach Shane Beamer, who went from a career-best 9-4 record in 2024 to career-worst 4-8 season last year.
This offseason he made several staff changes. This game marks the debut for five new coaches in offensive coordinator Kendal Briles, running backs coach Stan Drayton, offensive line coach Randy Clements, defensive ends coach Deion Barnes and special teams coordinator Matthew Smiley.
Senior quarterback LaNorris Sellers returns for his third year as starter, with 25 transfers and 19 freshmen on the Gamecocks roster.
