Giants Hit Six Home Runs in 9-5 Win vs. Mets

Coming off a brutal 10-6 loss, the San Francisco Giants were able to turn things around by taking game two against the New York Mets, 9-5.

Their four-run victory was courtesy of two more home runs from Rafael Devers, someone who is simply unstoppable at this point in time. That said, he was far from the only home run hitter in this one.

Of course, Anthony Molina deserves a ton of credit as well for his five innings of work. He may have given up a two-out, two-run home run, but neither of those runs were earned, so that helped get his season ERA down to 2.79.

Overall, this was a great win for the Giants as they outhit the Mets, 10-5, and erased an early 2-0 deficit to improve to 59-84 on the year.

Molina continues to find his stride 

The 24-year-old has already played for three teams in the last year, so it's understandable that it's taken him some time to settle in.

After all, this was yet another road start for the Venezuelan native, but this time around he knocked it out of the park.

Molina was coming off a five-inning start in Atlanta where he allowed three earned runs on six hits. It's worth noting he's given up a homer in three of his last four appearances, so that's definitely something to monitor moving forward.

Regardless, it was Devers' error that made those runs go down in the stat sheet as unearned. For once, the Giants offense was able to give their pitching staff some run support, so this will officially go down as an extremely successful start for Molina, who is now a surprising 3-0 this season.

Four Giants crushed home runs

Hitting two home runs in a game is no easy feat, but it comes as no surprise that Devers was able to do so. The veteran has been unstoppable these past few weeks, and it seems like his power surge has finally rubbed off on some of his teammates.

Christian Koss, who bats ninth in the lineup, matched Devers' exact performance in this game. The pair each went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs. Neither recorded a walk or struck out, so they literally had identical numbers across the board in this win.

Osleivis Basabe and Grant McCray also homered in this one for the Giants. Suddenly this offense has a new lease on life, so it'll be interesting to see if this was a one-off performance or if everyone truly is starting to put it together at the plate.
