Anarumo reveals Colts potential Week 1 plan at linebacker

Ahead of the Indianapolis Colts' Week 1 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens, defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo has revealed the team's plan at linebacker.
According to Jake Arthur of Roundtable Sports, Anarumo said that the Colts will probably go with Akeem Davis-Gaither and Jaylon Carlies to start, although that could change during the week of practices.

Anarumo added that this is a position that will be rotated and the evaluation will be ongoing.

Davis-Gaither being one of the starters does not come as a surprise. As this position was rotated heavily throughout training camp, Davis-Gaither seemed to become one of the constants at the position.
Carlies, meanwhile, seemed to make a late surge, performing better and better as camp progressed, which included earning steady playing time with the ones prior to that final preseason game.
As a former college safety, Carlies brings an added coverage presence to the position. Safety Cam Bynum will wear the green dot.
I would guess that we still see CJ Allen during more obvious running plays. While the Colts remain bullish about his abilities, injuries early on in camp led to him missing out on significant practice time.
Austin Ajiake could once again be more of a special teams contributor and that is the same path that Bryce Boettcher could be on, although he was able to flash defenisvely during the preseason.
