Houston Christian hangs 88 points on Arkansas Baptist in shutout to set program scoring record

Houston Christian set a program record for single-game scoring, overwhelming Arkansas Baptist 88-0 on Saturday night at Husky Stadium in its home opener.
After Champ Dozier set the tone by returning the opening kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown, the Huskies (2-1) scored on each of their first six possessions to build a 62-0 halftime lead. Elijah Harris added a 52-yard punt return TD during the first half.

Quarterback Cutter Stewart threw for 156 yards and three TDs, including a 76-yarder to Jamaal Hall II, who had three catches for 117 yards. Ja'Ryan Wallace had two TD catches and Dozier had one.
Jaylen Middleton rand for a pair of TDs and freshman Hayden Drinkard, making his collegiate debut, rushed for 98 yards and three TDs in the second half.
HCU totaled 454 yards and held Arkansas Baptist (1-2) to 116, including 17 rushing yards. The Huskies forced two fumbles and tied the program single-game record with six sacks. Mike Sylvalie had three sacks, while Calvin Kalu-Alexander added 1½ sacks and two tackles for loss.
HCU resumes Southland Conference play against Incarante Word at 6 p.m. Saturday in San Antonio.
