The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid have knocked back the opportunity to bring Gregor Kobel to the club from Borussia Dortmund.
That’s according to Diario AS, who have this weekend provided an insight into the situation.
Kobel, for his part, is widely considered to be one of the standout performers between the posts in world football at present. The undisputed no.1 at the aforementioned Dortmund, the 28-year-old has long piqued the interest of some of Europe’s leading clubs.
The expectation, in turn, is that one such suitor will ultimately put an offer on the table which Dortmund consider too good to refuse.
Any such proposal, though, is unlikely to arrive courtesy of the aforementioned Real Madrid. Not for the time being, anyway…
As per a report from AS:
‘Kobel has been offered to Real Madrid. Real Madrid’s scouts have been following him closely, but their interest in the goalkeeper of a friendly club like the German team hasn’t gone beyond that.’
The brass at the Santiago Bernabéu remain happy with the goalkeeper options currently at the disposal of José Mourinho and his staff, confident in the abilities of both Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin.
