Sitting in 15th and 14th, respectively, both clubs have failed to win a game this season.
Siwelele are worse off, since Richards Bay has a game in hand and even a single point could be crucial at this stage.
Last season, the Bloemfontein side endured the longest winless streak (7 games) and has already matched this unfavourable record.
With 3 draws and 4 losses, Siwelele are now just above Gallants.
Richards Bay, meanwhile, have 3 draws and 3 losses and are only ahead on goal difference.
Kruger United face tough welcome
The Mpumalanga side earned direct promotion last season after topping the First Division standings.
While Kruger United may have initially celebrated their piece of history, top-flight soccer has not been kind.
13th on the table after 6 games, the Village Boys can at least take comfort in their solitary win.
That victory came against TS Galaxy on Sunday and could be a launching pad away from the relegation zone.
How tight is the PSL table?
Only 6 points separate Marumo Gallants and Sekhukhune United in sixth place on the PSL table.
In fact, a win by Gallants could see them immediately escape the relegation zone.
What’s next for the clubs at the bottom?
On 19 September, Richards Bay welcome Sekhukhune, and Kruger United host Stellenbosch FC.
Marumo Gallants face a tough test from a visiting Orlando Pirates on 20 September.
