A main part of the Detroit Lions' offensive engine is that of Jahmyr Gibbs, with the running back becoming one of the faces of the league. His 156-yard outing against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon was just another masterclass in the four-year career of the Lions' superstar/
But finding some ample support for Gibbs was something that was fresh on the minds of Detroit's front office throughout the offseason, which led them to reach a one-year contract with two-time Super Bowl champions Isaiah Pacheco, with the deal being worth $1.81 million. Pacheco went into free agency off of a season that saw him run for 462 yards, reaching the end zone on one occasion for Kansas City.
These numbers were a clear step down from where he was during the opening years of his time with the Chiefs, posting 830 yards in his rookie season and 935 during his second season in the league.
But the Detroit faithful will have to wait some more to see their backup running back, as he'll be out for some time.

As reported by NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Lions' running back underwent a procedure to resolve an issue regarding his back, which has a 12-week recovery period.
While this move to the IR will see Detroit take a hit to the quality of their backups for Gibbs, it doesn't mean that they don't have anyone, as Sione Vaki and Jacob Saylors. Saylors failed to make an appearance on Sunday against the Saints, while Vaki recorded two attempts for seven yards, along with 11 receiving yards through a single target.
