Monica Seles is a nine-time Grand Slam champion. She won every Grand Slam at least twice except for Wimbledon where her best result was as the 1992 finalist. Seles won eight Grand Slam titles as a teenager.
Her career was irreversibly impacted by the stabbing incident in an April 30, 1993 match at the Citizen Cup. Seles suffers from Myasthenia gravis
She was diagnosed in 2022 with myasthenia gravis, a neurological condition where communication between nerves and muscles breaks down leading to weakness and tiredness.
