FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is expected to rotate some players when his league leaders once more host at the Spotify Camp Nou in predicted torrential rain.

The Catalans played through heavy downpour at home last week, when thrashing Feyenoord 5-1 in their Champions League debut.

There were grumbles after Sunday’s 4-2 win at Levante over the weekend, because of the way the Spanish top flight rulers went ahead but allowed the Valencians to pull a couple back through lapses in concentration from the likes of 2007 La Masia graduates Xavi Espart and Marc Bernal late on.

Still they got the job done, with Karim Adeyemi putting the tie beyond doubt through a fantastic golazo. But attention now turns to Racing Santander, in a later than usual 21:30 kick off at local time in Barcelona.

For this one, Joan Garcia is the goalkeeper. He’ll have his net defended by a few fresh faces, however, such as Joao Cancelo and Jules Kounde on the flanks while Andreas Christensen - and not Gerard Martin - partners Pau Cubarsi.

This means Eric Garcia and Espart have been benched, though they could feature at some point.

Many suspected that this could be a game we saw Gavi get some minutes. And though that could prove true as the fixture progresses, he’s expected to once more hit the bench as he has in the last three outings with two of those an unused substitute.

Rodri is expected to be the pivot, with Pedri in front of him and Dani Olmo getting the nod at Fermin Lopez’s expense.

Up front, however, it is the same trio consisting of Anthony Gordon, La Liga’s top scorer Raphinha, and Ballon d’Or candidate Lamine Yamal.

“I don’t want to break records (by winning seven in a row). We want to win games, every game. I don’t think about other things, only about tomorrow’s game. We play against an opponent who is doing very well, with a coach who has done a fantastic job. It will not be an easy game, we need all the players focused.”
