The Houston Texans are looking at not having wide receiver Nico Collins available for the Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Collins injured his hamstring at practice on Wednesday and was listed as limited on the team's injury report.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Collins' hamstring injury is not believed to be serious, but the Texans wideout's Week 2 status is "in jeopardy."

"Texans WR Nico Collins injured his hamstring at Wednesday’s practice, met with doctors after and they 'don’t believe it’s serious,' per source. Yet Collins’ status for Sunday’s game vs. the Bengals is in jeopardy," Schefter reported.

This is the last thing the Texans needed.

Not only would Collins' absence leave the team very short-handed at wide receiver, it would also do so in a matchup with a Bengals team that can score a lot of points.

Safe to say, the Texans are going to need more out of their defense that gave up a whopping 36 points to Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in Week 2.

Fantasy impact of Collins' injury

Not having Collins on the field will hurt C.J. Stroud's fantasy football stock. After all, few quarterbacks are as good without their best wide receiver.

Guys like Jaylin Noel, Dalton Schultz, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte will need to step up if Collins is indeed sidelined.

That said, for fantasy football purposes, it's impossible to say who should be inserted into lineups out of this group, as there's very little certainty.

Fantasy owners are best off avoiding this situation completely.

Schultz is probably the best play because of the shallow pool of tight ends.

When it comes to the wide receivers, we'd rank Noel as the best bet if you're in a desperate situation, followed by Hutchinson and Boutte.

But there should be better options at this early stage in the season.
