Here's Where Washington Huskies Stood in Latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll

The Washington Huskies are one of eight teams in the Big Ten that made it through their nonconference schedule with a record of 3-0 or better. Several of those teams are ranked in the Associated Press Top 25. Unfortunately for the Huskies, they will not be entering Big Ten play as one of the conference's ranked teams.

The latest edition of the Top 25 released Sunday and Washington was, for the second week in a row, out of the poll. The Big Ten had seven teams ranked in the Top 25. They were, in order: the Indiana Hoosiers (No. 5), Southern California Trojans (No. 12), Penn State Nittany Lions (No. 13), Iowa Hawekeyes (No. 17), Michigan Wolverines (No. 18) and Oregon Ducks (No. 20).

The Huskies were once again the highest vote-getters among teams not in the Top 25 poll. They received 107 votes and the second-highest vote-getting non-Top 25 team was the Kentucky Wildcats.

Washington also was the top vote-getting non-Top 25 team in last week's poll. They received more votes (172) in last week's poll than this week's.

The Huskies went into the season ranked 17th to the poll and fell to 19th after a 24-10 win against the Washington State Cougars in Week 1. They fell off the poll entirely after a 16-14 win against the Utah State Aggies in Week 2.

Washington will have an opportunity to move itself back to the Top 25 poll in the upcoming weeks with its Big Ten schedule set to take place, including multiple contests against teams currently in the poll.

The Huskies will begin their Big Ten schedule against the Minnesota Golden Gophers at 8 p.m. PT on Saturday at Husky Stadium in Seattle. Washington will be favorites going into the game.

Following the game against the Golden Gophers, the Huskies will travel to Los Angeles to play the No. 12 Trojans on Oct. 3. Washington will return home to play the No. 17 Hawkeyes at 6 p.m. PT on Oct. 9 at Husky Stadium in Seattle.

After those two games against USC and Iowa, Washington will have three more games against Big Ten teams currently ranked in the Top 25. The Huskies will play No. 13 Penn State at a to-be-determined time Nov. 7 at Husky Stadium, will take on the defending national champions, No. 5 Indiana, at a to-be-determined time Nov. 21 at Husky Stadium and will head on the road for the series finale to play No. 20 Oregon on Nov. 28 in Eugene, Ore.
