NFL World Erupts as Patrick Mahomes Matches Tom Brady Record
After securing the win over the Denver Broncos on Monday night last week, the Chiefs seemed to have put last season’s disappointing performance behind them. Mahomes then reinforced that belief by leading Kansas City to a 2-0 start following Sunday’s thrilling win over the Colts.
The win also added another milestone to Mahomes’ career, as he now has 97 wins through his first 10 NFL seasons. Thatties Brady for the third-most victories by a player during their first decade in the league since 1950.
Mahomes now sits behind only Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson in that regard. The NFL community had plenty to say as Mahomes continued delivering excellence.
“Tonight… officially declaring Patrick Mahomes is back. (Travis) Kelce looks better than he ever has and the Chiefs can run the ball,” ex-NFL quarterback Chase Daniel wrote.
Former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Robert Griffin III also showered Mahomes with praise in a post-game breakdown.

Mahomes handled a heavy workload through the air on Sunday, completing 32 of 47 attempts for 382 yards and three touchdowns while also adding 17 rushing yards on two carries.

With Mahomes playing at a high level and Kansas City continuing to win, belief in the Chiefs’ return to their dominant form of old has already taken root.
“Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs are still the best team in the AFC West,” Skip Bayless tweeted.
“Alright, maybe the 2018-22 Chiefs are back. Almost 400 yards for Mahomes and had to take the lead twice in OT to get the classic KC win, no cover,” sports writer Scott Kacsmar said.

Mahomes and the Chiefs will now turn their attention to Week 3, when they face the Miami Dolphins as they look to remain undefeated.
