While the Lynx players and coaches were busy slamming their own performance after the game, Clark clarified a specific on-court incident with Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve.

Clark and Reeve shared an on-court moment at the end of the first quarter as Reeve argued with the referees. The 24-year-old revealed after the game that Reeve tried to get the referees to review a foul where Clark bumped into the coach.
“I know Cheryl tried to challenge that call where I bumped her with my shoulder good. I told her that’s a great bump. I didn’t bump her super hard. If you’re gonna be physical, I’m gonna be physical right back.”
While the bump itself was not caught on the broadcast, the interaction between Clark and Reeve after she overheard the conversation leads to the pair exchanging smiles.
Clark’s recent increase in physicality even led to compliments from Fever coach Stephanie White after the game, who called her star point guard ‘swole.’
Lynx couldn’t keep up with Caitlin Clark and the Fever
Coach Reeve had a bad night at the office, watching her starters combine for 28 points on 10-26 field goal shooting as a unit.
She benched the core players with half the game left to protect their health instead of attempting a comeback in a blowout loss.

Rookie sensation Olivia Miles was a late scratch and could not face off against Clark one day after breaking her rookie scoring record.
The teams face off again on September 24 in their final regular-season clash of the season.
The Lynx secured the No. 1 seed after the Valkyries lost to the Fire in an upset, so they will likely rest their starters while the Fever fight for a win with their core players to secure a top-four seed.
