After a nonconference win last Saturday night against Florida State, the Alabama Crimson Tide returned to SEC play in Week 4 with a home matchup against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
A team that had played Alabama close each of the last two seasons, this latest meeting between the teams was the exact opposite though. The Crimson Tide claimed an early lead following a fast start from the Crimson Tide offense, and cruised to an eventual 49-18 win, despite struggling at times in the second half.

Keelon Russell shines in stellar performance
Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell had yet another monster showing Saturday night against South Carolina, as the sophomore completed 21-of-27 passes for 365 yards and four touchdowns. Russell also made an impact again in the running game, rushing for 35 yards and a touchdown on eight attempts.
Alabama avoids slow start
After slow starts the last two weeks, the Crimson Tide offense got things going early Saturday night by finding the end zone often. Following a three-and-out on their opening drive, Alabama went on to score a touchdown on their next four drives, and then immediately followed that with a Red Morgan pick-six.
Tide defense stout on third down, struggles on fourth
The Alabama defense was impressive Saturday night on third downs, but struggled when facing fourth down against South Carolina's offense. In all, Alabama's defense held South Carolina to 3-of-14 on third downs, but also allowed the Gamecocks to go 3-of-5 on fourth down.
Noah Rogers, AK Dear make season debut
Having missed the past three games due to injury, running back AK Dear and wide receiver Noah Rogers both made their season debut Saturday night. Dear finished with one carry for one yard, while Rogers had a reception for 36 yards.
