Texas A&M football snap count leaders vs. LSU in Week 4

Texas A&M’s playing time against LSU tells part of the story of Saturday’s 35-6 loss. The Aggies ran only 63 offensive plays, and their defense was on the field for 70. A&M finished with 197 total yards while LSU gained 506.

According to the Pro Football Focus snap counts you provided, Marcel Reed played 59 of the 63 offensive snaps before Brady Hart took the final four. The defense had a much longer night than it did against Kentucky, when it played 55 snaps.

Nabou missed only one offensive snap. Wilkin Formby and Tyree Adams played 59 apiece, while Lamont Rogers played 58 and Trovon Baugh played 56. The group was largely consistent up front, even as the Aggies struggled to keep drives going.

Owens led the running backs, followed by KJ Edwards with 17 snaps. Horton led the receivers in playing time, while Mario Craver played 34 snaps and Ashton Bethel-Roman returned to the rotation for 36.

Ricks played the most defensive snaps of any Aggie. Mikhail was next with 54, while Ratcliffe played 50 and Dalton Brooks played 47. LSU’s success through the air kept A&M’s defensive backs on the field a lot, and the Aggies had little to show for it.

A few smaller roles were worth noting. Freshman Landon Rink played 24 snaps and earned the defense’s highest PFF grade at 74.0. Daymion Sanford played 17 snaps, giving A&M another linebacker option after his limited availability earlier in the season.

The counts show that A&M leaned on its regulars for most of the night. With Arkansas coming to Kyle Field next, the bigger question is whether those players can give the Aggies better results.
