Browns’ Hot Start Could Push Former 1,200-Yard Receiver Toward Trade Block
· Yahoo Sports
The Cleveland Browns are 3-1, with Deshaun Watson leading the offense. Still, the team could make changes before the NFL trade deadline as competition grows across the roster.
ESPN analyst Dan Graziano believes Cleveland should trade wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. Jeudy’s production has dropped while rookies are earning bigger roles, and a deal could help the Browns adjust their offense and strengthen their playoff push.

Browns linked to surprise Jerry Jeudy trade
Jeudy opened the season with just two catches for 26 yards through his first two games, a sharp drop from the 1,229-yard season he put together in his first year with Cleveland in 2024. The Browns have since won three straight, including a 27-24 win over Pittsburgh on Thursday Night Football that pushed them to 3-1 and atop the AFC North.
University of Alabama receiver Jerry Jeudy is interviewed before fan day on the Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Saturday August 4, 2018. Media09 – Imagn Images“The Browns’ wide receiver corps has been taken over by rookies, and Jeudy might no longer fit squarely into the plans,” Graziano wrote in his latest trade-value breakdown. The comment reflects how quickly Cleveland’s receiver room has changed since Jeudy arrived from Denver, with rookies KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston now drawing more regular targets.
The Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts have both been floated as trade destinations, with Indianapolis still searching for receiver help after trading away Michael Pittman Jr. earlier this year.
Rookie takeover and non-guaranteed salary make Jerry Jeudy prime trade target
Jeudy arrived in Cleveland in 2024 as the unquestioned No. 1 receiver, a status that earned him a three-year, $52 million extension after a career-best season. His contract structure makes a move logical.
“He’s owed about $23 million in salary and bonus for 2027, but it’s not guaranteed, so an acquiring team wouldn’t likely be deterred by that,” Graziano said. Graziano added that Jeudy has notched “two catches for 26 yards in 2026, and he had just 602 last season (though he cracked 1,200 in 2024, his first year in Cleveland),” a decline that tracks directly with Cleveland’s receiver room getting younger each year.
General manager Andrew Berry has a track record of making in-season trades, and if Cleveland wants to make a deep playoff push, one more move before the Nov. 10 deadline would fit the pattern.
