Western Railway GM Ramashray Pandey Administers Swachhata Pledge

As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign and Swachhata Pakhwada 2026, General Manager of Western Railway, Ramashray Pandey, administered the Swachhata Pledge to officers and staff at Western Railway Headquarters, Churchgate. The initiative reaffirmed Western Railway's commitment towards cleanliness, hygiene and collective responsibility for maintaining a clean and healthy environment.

According to a press release issued by Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer, Western Railway, the General Manager, along with senior officers and staff, took the Swachhata Pledge, committing to devote time towards cleanliness, refrain from littering and encourage others to maintain cleanliness. Pandey also participated in the Swachhata Pakhwada Signature Campaign by signing the signature board, reinforcing the message of individual responsibility and collective participation in the cleanliness movement.

Other activities envisaged as part of the campaign include Swachh Raths/Prabhat Pheris with the slogan “Swachh Rail, Swachh Bharat”, plantation drives under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, review of the outcomes of Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 and felicitation of best-performing units and volunteers.

Western Railway is observing Swachhata Pakhwada from 1st to 15th October, 2026, with various cleanliness drives and awareness activities across its stations, trains, railway colonies and offices. Through these initiatives, Western Railway continues its efforts to promote cleanliness as a shared responsibility and encourages railway employees and passengers to actively contribute towards a cleaner and greener railway environment.
