These NFL coaches are feeling the heat early on

· Yahoo Sports

The NFL season is four games old. It's already getting warm for some coaches. And not because it is summer.

There are indications some of the head coaches in new spots are not getting it done, or don't have the talent what it takes to fix things.

Then again, there were some decisions made when it came to hiring coordinators that look highly questionable, at best.

What coaches are on the hot seat. And DeMeco Ryans of the Houston Texans isn't one of them. Although if he loses in Week 5 at Tennessee that could change. Quickly.

Aaron Glenn, New York Jets

Hard to imagine Woody Johnson thinks this is the answer for the Jets. Then again, there hasn't been one for many years when it comes to the team's head coach. If they lose to the Cleveland Browns in Week 5, the fuse might just extinguish on Glenn's coaching career at MetLife.

Jeff Hafley, Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins were better against the Vikings and still lost. Remember, Minnesota took knees at the end or this would have been double digits, too. Miami has scored all of 46 points in losing four games. It has allowed 101 points. Looks like Malik Willis isn't the answer at quarterback. He has yet to throw for more than 220 yards and has one touchdown pass. Playing with the Packers apparently made him look far better than he is.

Robert Saleh, Tennessee Titans

The Titans are winless heading into the Week 5 home game with Houston. Yes, it is a short time but when your team has scored 55 points and Saleh made the decision to hire Brian Daboll as his offensive coordinator, one has to wonder whether this is going to get any better. He was 20-36 in four seasons with the Jets. Some people are better coordinators than head coaches.

Jim Harbaugh, Los Angeles Chargers

He is firmly ensconced with the Bolts. Another loss in Week 5 -- they play the Denver Broncos -- and there should be major questions about why was Mike McDaniel hired as offensive coordinator?

Dan Quinn, Washington Commanders

He has the excuse the loss to Indianapolis came with a third-string quarterback for most of the game. Still, Washington has given up 122 points and defense was supposed to be Quinn's strength. They play host to the Giants in Week 5. New York is 3-1 but hasn't beaten anyone other than Dallas, which is only 2-2. Quinn needs Jayden Daniels back. And fast.

Todd Bowles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs won a lot of division titles in the NFC South with mediocre records. There was some playoff success. However, Bowles is 0-4 now, Baker Mayfield is out and a trip to Dallas is on the horizon this Thursday. Bowles is already talking like a coach who knows his seat is getting warmer.

Dan Campbell, Detroit Lions

The team doesn't play defense. Every opponent shreds it with the Panthers being the latest on Sunday Night Football. Campbell seemed to have changed the culture and direction of Detroit. Then the Lions went 8-9 last year and are 2-2 in 2026, barely beating the Saints and outlasting the winless Jets. This has to be demoralizing for the faithful of the Honolulu Blue.
