The four-time NBA champion has made a lot of waves since signing with the 76ers prior to the 2026-27 season. One of the biggest talking points about James’ Philly stay is that he won’t be living in the city full-time.
However, it’s becoming more clear how LeBron is able to pull off his frequent commute to New York City. Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin has given James free use of the company’s helicopter when he needs to travel between the two East Coast cities, per Front Office Sports.
James has an exclusive memorabilia partnership with Fanatics, which makes sense considering Rubin’s company works with many top leagues like MLB, NBA and NFL. Additionally, FOS says the NBA icon will have use of Fanatics’ “aviation fleet” even after his basketball career ends.

Michael Rubin’s still helping the Sixers

The well-known entrepreneur sold his 10 percent stake in the Sixers back in 2022.
Rubin’s growing Fanatics business made it nearly impossible to navigate the murky waters of being a diehard 76ers fan and owner as well as trying to make his company into a global giant. However, it appears he’s still finding ways to help out his favorite basketball team.
In fact, FOS reveals that a specific clause in James’ contract with Fanatics stipulates free use of the helicopter. Rubin’s frequently seen at Philly sporting events alongside celebrities like Kevin Hart and Meek Mill, and that will likely continue given the hype surrounding the 76ers.
